Eye of the Tiger (Richard C. Sarafian, 1986)
Een heel vreemde eend in de bijt, want nee, dit heeft niets met Rocky III te maken maar kent wel de klassieker van Survivor als centraal thema. Deze door Mad Max 2 hevig beïnvloede actiefilm is een en al vermaak en schandalig onbekend. Niemand minder dan cultheld Gary Busey speelt Buck Matthews, een oorlogsveteraan die bij terugkomst erachter komt dat zijn dorp wordt geterroriseerd door een motorbende. Als Bucks eigen familie wordt aangevallen is er geen weg meer terug en gaat hij de strijd aan, bijgestaan door vriend Deveraux - een rol van de aimabele Yaphet Koto. Uiteraard mag Busey helemaal los gaan met zijn typische overacteren; bekijk alleen de trailer al en je weet hoe laat het is. Hoogtepunt? Buck die een telefoongesprek op meesterlijke wijze afrondt, je bent immers Gary Busey of je bent het niet!
